My Dad sang this to me when I was a baby and continued to sing it over the years. I was called Lindy Lou. He sadly died when I was 22 years old. He was just 54.

Evokes the most magical memories of my Grandfather, brother and I playing Paul Robeson songs on a gramaphone under a large willow tree... With a furrow nearby. I am 81 years old now, how blessed were we

Thank you!!! ive always wanted to find this one. My mum used to sing this to me when i was little, and we had a record of Paul Robeson. Lindy was my nickname when i was little.

This is better balanced than the other entry of this recording. I love the switch between 3/4 time and 4/4 time. Very moving- a 3 minute masterpiece

Wonderful music! Wonderful voice! Few can match Robeson.
This recording was a childhood favourite 75y. ago.
I fell for Robeson's truly beautiful voice.
Later I discovered he was a world class athlete too.

Nice record. Do Google also John Charles Thomas sing this in 1931. A spectacular rendition. Try it, do. 🐸
