Miyoko's is the vegan cheese GOAT. The fresh mozz is great on a homemade margarita pizza, the shreds are solid and the new bottled liquid mozz pizza cheese is next level fantabulous. The Violife ranking did hurt a little but I do find I prefer the sliced cheeses (gouda and provolone are my favorites) or the Mexican or cheddar jack style shreds over the mozz.

Here in France vegan cheese is very hard to find, Violife is the only decent option. I think a lot of people recommend it from Europe as it’s the best we can find !

I will say, the Follow Your Heart one reminds me of cotija cheese. And as a Mexican slowly moving to veganism, it makes me very happy! I use it in my burritos, tacos and plan to use it on my elote preparado. 😀 ill definitely be giving these higher ranked items a try though. Thanks Merle!

Merle, you are absolutely right on Violife! I LOVE their cheddar as well and use it all the time, but I draw the line at their mozzarella - as you said, something is weird with it. The smell bothers me, the taste is just funky and off. I want to love it, but just definitely can't!

Nothing beats Miyoko's mozz, it's on another level. Quick recipe - - I grab a bowl and throw in some crushed garlic, sliced onions, sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil & balsamic vinegar - salt & red pepper flakes. I let it marinate for like 10 minutes, then slice up the mozz and lay it over seeded Italian bread, put on the marinated toppings, and oh my goodness, pure heaven!!!

This was hilarious! I love the pineapple aftertaste reaction. I am a HUGE fan of Chao. Never tried Parmela, So Delicious, or Follow Your Heart. I’m definitely NOT a fan of Violife or Daiya. I don’t know if they’ve changed their formula, but when I tried Daiya, I felt it was like a science experiment gone wrong! I love some of Miyoko’s flavours, but I haven’t tried the one in this video.

I've had the same experience with violife cheese! It's so hard and tastes fruity/bad. When I first ate it, I thought it had gone bad!

Dang, I'm pretty early! Just wanted to say that my sister and I have been mostly plant-based for a few years, but this channel has really inspired me to try to phase out the dairy and meat products I still use. I'd love to see you try to use soy curls in a recipe because they have so much more fiber than tofu, but I've been struggling to find really good recipes!

I eat chao shreds right out of the bag. It’s the ONLY good vegan cheese. It tastes the same as Kraft mozzarella (which was my favorite as a kid 😂)

I really like Violife’s cheddar slices and shreds…but I agree with you; the mozzarella is just weird.

Chao is definitely a favorite. I will get the chao slices and eat it with some nuts and fruit for a refreshing snack.

what's interesting too is that some melt well in the microwave but not so much in the oven. Also, some of the slices by brand are better than the shreds
