Which player completely wasted their talent? 🤔

Crazy how many people would do everything to get a chance to go pro while others waste their talent and chance

One of the best at POSH, now tried to look like a roadman, footballers have everything and then throw it away 😢

I met him once in person, he was polite and friendly, but hearing the attitude he had in the dressing room and reading the headlines when he was sent to prison, he really did waste his talent. It's just a wonder what he could've become 😔

Don't get me wrong, he was unplayable in League One, but above that level, he wasn't so great as his career stats imply. He wasn't as good as he thought he was and he should have been signed by a Championship club in his prime so he could be humbled - that is what he really needed.

I actually played 5 a side with him once in Peterborough for my work team, when he was dropped from the Peterborough squad with attitude problems, as he was mates with one of my colleagues, supremely talented player and a really nice bloke it seemed, shame things went off the rails in the later years

Someone was on a podcast and spoke about him and hit the nail on the head

He’s a premier league quality footballer with a non league players attitude. Such a wasted career

He was desperate to sign for Sunderland for a while and we all wanted him at one point, seems like we dodged a bullet in the end

jesus I didn't know he was in prison. The last I heard about 18 months ago he had a kickstarter to pay for surgery on an injury. Some top level footballers and ex teammates donated a lot of money into that. I wonder if he actually used it for an op or did he just blow it on the important things like neck tattoos?

Im a posh fan and he was fantastic for us, he should've played in the prem really but as soon as he left us he fell off massively

Hull City fan here. He came to our club when we had terrible owners and no meaningful transfers. But when he joined I was genuinely intrigued but he completely flopped. After that I just remember seeing his career take a complete nosedive and ofc sentenced to prison

Something in the water on Tyneside in the 2010s. That academy also produced Nile Ranger around that time, who was also phenomenal and also ended up falling down the divisions before going to prison. He gave a great interview recently demonstrating a different attitude and he’s scored 3 in 3 for Kettering Town this season, so there’s always hope for a second chance!

Wow. Never heard of him before tbh. Going by these clips, everyone should have. Just shows, you must always remain humble, or life will humble you!

Try and look into Mohamed Ihattaren, he played for pvs but due to personal problems like drugs and social media he got "fired". Right now he is playing for rkc in his early 20s. Hopefully he can get his carrier back.

Ravel Morrison and Nile Ranger are worth a shout here

What a way to waste such an opportunity… and by the sounds of it, it’s the least he deserved

Nile Ranger is another. Trouble is they're put in the football system too young, some believe their own hype and never fully grow up. Thankfully its the exception rather than the majority.

I'm a Peterborough United fan, when he played for us I got a selfie with him after the game, really nice and talkative. Shame he ruined his career.
