You can tell he actually did try to just leave... but he couldn't.

Bortus went full on beast mode. That pain stick didn't even slow him down. Just waved it off and continued pummeling on the guy. The scene was pure gold.

This is not Bortus being a beast.

This is Bortus being a father.

Peter Macon killed this scene. Like even through all that prosthetic I could still tell the moment he snapped.

Damn, Bortus went Dad mode. Resistance is futile.

The interrogator's face when he realises the father of the child he was just torturing has him completely cornered is priceless

I love how Topa seems completely fine with that, like if she wasnt in pain, she'd probably be cheering.

I love seeing Moclans be violent since their society and world essentially demanded aggression, strength, and survival above all else. But what I really love about this scene is how Bortus’ aggression was for a righteous act as fatherly protection and love

Edit: Better Wording

Crazy how this show quickly went from a semi comedic Star Trek parody to a truly amazing show. I hope it gets renewed soon.

As a Father with a Daughter of my own, this whole arc hit me hard, but I felt this scene in particular all the way to the most primal parts of my being. That terror, rage, and heartbreak at the notion of somebody inflicting such pain and suffering onto *MY* child was just so...visceral.

This scene reinforced the knowledge that, were I ever to discover someone was intentionally causing harm to my child, in an effort to cause incredible pain and suffering, I would tear them apart, piece by piece, with my bear hands... Even my teeth. There is no feeling more primal, for any parent, but especially a father - as the protector and provider of his family - than that.

This arc solidified Bortus as my favorite character in the show.

If I were Commander Grayson, I'd be like "Bortus!....Make it fast but do it right."

Bortus is a kind man by Moclon standards so when you finally see him rage out you can really feel that

This is by far my most favorite Bortus scene. We've seen Bortus remain stoic, show sadness and regret, even raise his voice from time to time, but to see him snap like that was exciting and shocking. They tortured his child, there was NO way he was going to let them get away with that. This was righteous vengeance.

This is not just the moment that Bortus lost his temper. It's the one in which he truly found it. That is the symbolism shown in dropping the instrument of torture designed by his own people, and picking up his Union-issued rifle. It shows where his loyalties truly lies.

I saw this and was like "FUCK YEAH BORTUS, GET EM!"

When he looked up and said "did you do this to her...?" I got chills. I felt that scene...being a father to 2 girls myself, I don't think even my commander would stop me lol

I'm glad he went all out rage mode instead of just shooting him. So much more satisfying.
