Yes, old furniture! My mom and dad have had an experience like this with an antique mirror they purchased. My mom started having nightmares and finally told my dad she thought it was the mirror! My dad went and had a conversation with the mirror and told the spirit attached to it that they were gonna love the mirror and take care of it, and essentially said the spirit needed to back off and relax, and the dreams/haunting stopped! They still have the mirror and nothing else has happened since.

The simplest ingredient for protection is salt. I've always put a circle around my entire house and even across my gate way with charms buried by the posts. Not just for spiritual reasons but to keep negative people away or soften their intentions. Even the living bring baggage sometimes. I've also found while dogs will tell you something is off, cats keep things away.

I trust animals more than I trust my own intuition and this is a great example of why. You are lucky to have Hazel and her to have you. The Universe is always sending us signs, if we are willing to listen.

I have a very old table that my parents bought at a barn sale of a local rural doctor. It is an antique birthing table, complete with stirrups. From the Civil War Era I was only 6 when they bought it, they gave it to me at 18 years, and I am now 60. It carries a protective energy with it, and always has. I believe it somehow collected and retained a lot of "mother" energy, that feels like a warm safe hug.

I think what some people forget is that when you are in the midst of something, it can be very hard to see what is happening, or even realise it IS happening until it is to late, but at the end of the day it is how you deal with it once you are aware that makes the difference.

A handful of years ago I was living with my boyfriend at his father's house. His father's girlfriend collected haunted items and kept them in the basement next to our room. We experienced so many things including what seemed to be a watcher spirit. It was a terrifying experience but eventually I moved out and luckily nothing followed me

I am so thankful that I have a very intense natural sense about old objects and home. I can always tell if there is a negative aura about things. Usually when I'm in an antique store, there will be at least one item that just gives me the creeps. I put this down to having had my own EXTREME haunting experience when I was a child. My family lived for 11 months in a very haunted house that had a very malicious spirit in it that was so noisy that we initially thought that we had a squatter hiding somewhere. One thing I distinctly remember was the constant nightmares I had about dark shadowy figures standing at my bedroom window staring at me in bed.

I, too, love antiques, but have learned it is wise to cleanse everything I bring into my home or onto my property. Being a bit of an empath, even antique stores themselves are problematic, as the mingled energies of the items make my ears ring. I once bought a clear glass paperweight that I thought would be perfect for scrying. I named her Luna (like your doggo) and placed her on my windowsill at night to collect moon energy. The window is directly above the head of my bed, and that night I had the worst nightmares and woke up with a terrible headache. This continued for several nights until it dawned that Luna may have come in with something. That's always a danger when you don't know something's past history. Apart from waving sage about, I knew nothing of banishing. I did some research and ran across a spell that suggested plunging the object in icy water for a period of time (!!) It sounded weird, but I did it, and it seemed to work, because I've had no trouble with Luna since. (I still can't scry to save myself, though) :)
