Fly over Mt. Olympus with Ultralight trike

I packed all survival gears in the passenger seat bag including a satellite beacon, bear spray, water and foods. I finished the pre-flight inspection on my trike night before the flight. In the next morning, I had a great weather to fly in the high altitude mountain ranges. Clouds from the last storm cleared up and air temp in high altitude got warmer. I took off the airport at 7:00 am. The wind aloft was 15 to 20 mph from the west. So, I climbed to 10,000 ft and stayed there to avoid mountain rotors from the peaks. The air was smooth but chilly. It was absolutely beautiful and magnificent flight. Mt. Olympus is the highest peak in Olympic National Park. Few glaciers, including Blue Glacier and Hoh Glacier flow down from the peak.

Wow, that was a beautiful flight! I can't imagine what it must feel like flying that trike. Must be like an air balloon when the trike rocks back and forth.

My beautiful backyard, which I’ve hiked many times. Sad that climatologists and glaciologists tell us that they’ll be no more glaciers in Olympic National Park by 2070. They’ve been receding for the past hundred years, and we have plenty of photos which verify that.
