Wow. Sin is a power, not an act. It is a spiritual power that cannot be seen. It's a battle that can only be broken by what cannot be seen. Our battle is not against flesh and blood...I need Jesus' power to be free!

Shows you the power of God's Word being preached faithfully. It's astoundingly true. Forgiveness and sin are incredibly difficult concepts to grasp with. Jesus is Lord

Sin withdrawal is a killer, the swept clean empty mind is horrible. We really don't want to be alone with our own thoughts lol. BUT we can get past that to fill our minds with curiosity about GOD and his plan for us and the world we live in. JESUS ROCKS!

Only God's words can set you free from the power of sin and I've experienced it in my youth and it's a kind of freedom nothing in this world can give.

Under many circumstances, sin is convenient and easy to accept usually. It's usually the easiest option among a given set of alternatives as well. Most people will go with whatever brings comfort or an sense of such before even questioning what is the right choice or whether there is a right and/or noble choice in a given situation for the vast majority of situations. Such is ultimately human nature and what most people choose but the Bible radically tells us that there is such a concept as sin which is a part of human nature.

For the Israelites, they face some starvation and small troubles after they leave Egypt. Such makes them go into a stance where they would eliminate any such risk even if it meant giving up their physical freedom where they were subjugated to rape, exploitation, and poverty along with being in a state against their religious freedom most importantly.

Many sins become an addiction just like Timothy Keller explains. It doesn't just become a temporary solution but the easier path and lure of it become extremely addicting. And people get addicted to sin just like drugs and/or sex! Jesus describes how people have an ultimate need that keeps wanting more and when such isn't filled with Jesus, they will fill it with different master(s).

14:40 And God is saying: "I want you to know that I going to give you what you want, but the more you get of it the less you will love it"

28:12 you will lose your appetite for everything else because you've lost your appetite for me

Imagine if people could see the demons they serve, in their slavery to sin. How they grow more powerful with every sin you commit in their name.
