I'm impressed, I've for one have never seen somebody being able to screw in that many long star-screws without tons of trouble.

I baught a box of milwanky bits and they nearly all snapped. The wera impact diamond bits on the other hand are by far the best bit on the market imo and I'm sure I could put 10 boxes of those screws in with one were diamond impact bit.

I've always liked the DeWalt FlexTorq bits better than Milwaukee's Shockwave.. but my favorite has to be the Wiha Terminator bits.... 👍
Thanks Roger....

Personally, for screws that long, I prefer Torx headed screws and bits. Less chance of cam-out, so I find the bits last longer. And not an issue of breaking the bit or the screw if you have your torque setting correct on your driver for the material with which you are working.

Roger the Wera bit you are using is a normal Wera Pozi bit. You need the Wera Impaktor (that's what they call them) pozi bit which are black in colour, they also make a bit for use on Stainless Steel screws which comes in a light blue coloured box.

Could you do a review on what screws you would use and why, also the trade cases which come in different colours (gold or silver cases)

I like the SabreCut bits, haven't had the Milwaukee though.
But who uses PZ when you can have TX?

If only all builders were as professional as Roger.

Had mixed results with most of the so called impact/ torsion bits, I would rather buy the dewalt posi bits with a decent bit holder. I’m more devastated about that lovely piece of oak with more screws in it than wormwood scrubs! Cheers Roger

It the first time I’ve watched a guy screwing with wood on the internet.
Honest.

Driving screws into timber, mate Ryobi bits will do that, try drilling through 15mm compressed, fixing to 3mm steel, NOW THATS A TEST! The only bits we had that could stand the impact driving were Suttons, all the rest bent and snapped off!

Not a fan of milwakee. Would rather use makita the bits are better made. Nice to see you out Rodger 👍 👍.

i use makita impact gold xtreme bits, never got on with dewalt or milwauke bits or tools, they are the only 'quality' tools and bits that i have broken, only just replaced my makita drill after several years of abuse and that was due to wear and lack of being looked after, did not want makita again but was cheaper than replacing whole tool kit to match. i use hitachi at home but will be getting rid of it soon because i don't want to combine hitachi and hikoki and have a mix of manufacturer names on everything, i like everything to match.

The Milwaukee are really good bits, that's a fair review there Roger. I'm currently using some Wiha Maxxtor bits. I use the impact driver every day and i've only broken 2 in 2 years. I can't see how Wiha make any money because they last incredibly well.

They last a lot longer than Bosch, kobalt and other store brands that’s for sure. I do a lot of steel stud framing & these work wonderfully

That wasnt a wera impact bit. Just a standard one. The wera impaktors are black not gold
