4 Families Come Together to Share and Live Simply in Community!

Grain & Sens is a multicultural eco-community in Ardèche, France consisting of four families who all believe there could be more people living together and sharing resources. Where there once was a single family, now there are 14 people living in community. They all live in simple tiny houses each with their own gardens to grow food.

Sharing resources and responsibilities helps them to live more sustainably, saves them a lot of time and money and creates a greater sense of freedom so that they can pursue their passion and strive for a higher quality of life. It shouldn’t be so foreign to want to support each other and recreate this connection to people that has been lost in this separate society.

At Grain & Sens, they host visitors and share this experience with others. They offer workshops and classes as well as volunteer opportunities. They believe that if people can come there and see what they do, then people can heal themselves too.

How inspiring! I’m currently in the process of purchasing 100 acres of land with a group of 7 people and start an intentional farming community. I’ve been feeling a little anxiousness about starting this business venture with so many people, but this video was definitely reassuring that it is possible! Thank you ❤️

Your group is successful because you were already friends before (i think). The greatest challenge is to make strangers into friends.

Very interesting. I have a 3 generational family farm/homestead. Started it in 2010. 5 years ago it was 4 generations.

I like the concept of smaller private spaces. We all live in a big house. We are working towards this concept of building smaller private spaces as children marry etc. But keeping our communal kitchen and shared spaces.
Wish we had done this decades ago. Absolutely love it.

I am so happy to see you are sharing videos of people living in community! This is definitely my next step. I live in Greece and am looking to find or create a community here similar to this one. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤️

I have always wanted this for the homeless low income families of single or married with without children to help myself and them to live life without being left out in cold.
Government is an issue because government is people who need others to supply them with great lives at expense of others like bad gangs.
i placed an ad on craiglist looking for others wanting yo get together to form a community and my ad was deleted by craiglist

Thanks for sharing. So often I dream of living like this. I share an apartment with my three daughters. Some day, if we or some of us still want to live together, we are saving for a house. My hope is to live in a community where we can share resources and help one another.

God bless you and your families more- such a wonderful way to LIVE. This is how life should be- Children outside with their bikes- not inside on their computers 12 hours-
I prefer to have more privacy.

For those of us who are choosing Nature and a healthier connection to who we are as a species, communities are the future - if only from a pragmatic standpoint. For those electing urban lifestyle in large hubs and a heightened stimulated environment (albeit controlled), individualism is the future. This is now our societal evolution as a species on Earth. And the choice is ours. All based on free will.
