Dana White says Stephen Thompson didn’t get paid because of the fact that he didn’t fight. He says you don’t get to show up, not fight and get paid 250K.

Wonderboy kept his side of the contract. He made weight and showed up to fight. His opponent didn’t. He wins a ‘by’ in other sports. That camp takes its toll. All that sparring added mileage to his body. All those coaches are paid. It’s a shitty situation Thompson is in but it’s the UFC’s rules and he’ll get nothing.

He should show Wonderboy some respect. He did make weight. He did what he was supposed to do. The last three or four pounds are the hardest to lose and gives the other fighter a hydration advantage. The UFC should do more about these Fighters not making weight. Cut them or move them up a weight class.

Wonderboy went the extra mile for the company before, can’t blame him for refusing to do it again especially towards the end of his career. He should absolutely get whatever baseline fight pay is on his contract for doing a full camp, making weight, and showing up ready to fight.

I watched some guys who did not fight but get their show money. I still think it is right to give WB his money. It’s not his fault the fight was cancelled. What are rules for. SMH. Not fair. Ok. I admit I reacted too quickly. It seems fair to me to reimburse WB whatever expenses he had for this fight. But I still think there S/B Harshier penalty for those who doesn’t make weights. That will avoid cheating.

He sign the contract to fight a certain guy at certain weight . Not with other guy or a miss weight . You just can’t force him to fight another different guy simply because he not prepare and training for that replacement guy . He done everything right, ufc should paid him of what he entitled and ufc should fine or sues the guy missing weight for the lost of income . This way in future no one dared to miss weight because they will loose theirs own money .
