Way back in the day (70s n 80s) bowling was treated like golf, everyone stayed quiet and cameras were kept at a minimum. Not sure when it happened but at some point it became a Happy Gilmore event and everyone started making circus noise before, during and after the throw. I think it is better now that the bowlers are used to that and those camera flashes don't distract.

Funny thing. I rolled in a fireman’s league and there was more noise in the alley than at a rock concert and we had guys rolling consistent 240’s

Watched the " camera flash" game match. Then thought why would anybody do that at a bowling match? Realized that it was from somebody who doesn't truly appreciate the sport

What’s hilarious is watching “professionals” get distracted by a flash and a ringtone. When I was being taught to bowl, one of the first things I was told/taught was to block out such distractions. I’m nowhere near these guys level, but I never cried over noises.

I do that too when I get pissed off by seeing fans or the flash camera. Anthony gets the "F" thing okay, I rest my case. Patrick Allen (I bowled with him) is beyond irate, Walter Ray Willams (I met him in person), "SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU???" Camera flash problem.

I love how highschool bowlers can with regionals and states in loud bowling alleys with parents cheering but these old men need absolute silence to even hit the pins
