The Mysterious Barrier Surrounding the Star Wars Galaxy (Legends and Canon)

Показать описание
Today we talk about the hyperspace disturbances, and almost super natural forces, which prevent space ships from entering or leaving the Star Wars galaxy. Sometimes people call this the Hyperspace Anomaly Beyond the Edge of the Galaxy.

This isn't necessarily an official name, and doesn't fully explain the scope or effect of these forces, which is what I aim to do in today's video. We'll be canvassing both Star Wars Legends and Star Wars canon, in an attempt to answer the questions of: what is the force, what does it do, does it cover the entire galaxy, and why is it there.

We'll be covering content from Star Wars Aftermath: Empire's End, the Yuuzhan Vong arc starting with Vector Prime and the New Jedi Order, also covering topics including the Celestials.

Brought a relic of the channel back to today's video! Wonder who will be the first to notice!

You go out far enough, and see in the middle of your vision... "Return to Battlefield: 10...."

What about the Force? Maybe it's a barrier generated by the Force, and since the Vong are force immune they were able to break the "Force Barrier"

There's also the fact that the distance between galaxies is so massive, we think that the distances between stars is big, but that's nothing compared to the scale of the space between galaxies.

I think it's pretty damn obvious why the Rebels didn't just say "Fuck this galaxy, we're out." Leaving would be pretty much suicide. In the stories there have been comments about a few adventurers and daredevils making expeditions and how they were never seen or head from again.

Then there was Outbound Flight that was a fiasco.

The space between galaxies is VAST! A huge huge void. The Yuuzhon Vong were only able to make between galaxies because they had hugeass Worldships that were almost flying, self sustaining planets, and even then that trip took a couple hundred years.

Jumping franchises in Mass Effect Andromeda, the Andromeda Initiative or whatever the hell they called it. It took them like 600 years to get from the Milky Way to the Andromeda galaxy.

Something makes me think that the Star Wars guys don't realize that galaxies are three dimensional. Sure they're a lot flatter than they are wide, but they are not flat like the maps show.

I wonder if this barrier has any ties to the force

0:10 I think the bigger question is : why does Lando wear Han's clothes to pilot the Millennium Falcon?

Cool, I'm glad I found out about this, as I was planning a trip soon and I'd hate to run into unexpected complications.

Surrounds us, binds us, yet the vong was thought free of the Midichlorian menace so maybe the barrier isn't out there it's a part of everyone within the star wars galaxy!

The barrier failed to keep the " mouse " out.

I thought that this question about the inpentrable barrier at the edge of every galaxy was answered by MiB. Just look at the galaxy on Orion's belt, there is no leaving that marble!

One thing which u discount (when it comes to the possibility that the celestials possibly creating that barrier) is that they created Abeloth's prison, of which Centerpoint and Sinkhole Stations were key. I'd like to point out that they were in entirely different systems. It has also been theorized that they created the Maw Cluster, an unnatural cluster of blackholes with a stable area in the center, creating an excellent, if not perfect fortress, which again, has been theorized to be part of Abeloth's prison. They have also been known to take planets and hide them in their own pocket dimensions, completely undetectable which cannot be interacted with by those on the outside and where time flows at a different rate from the outside. So yes, the possibility that the Celestials created this barrier is very high

I like the idea that the force which is said to be in everyone is a plague, or use to be one that the Jedi turned into a tool. The barrier was meant to keep force holders in, maybe because they are too powerful

So basically it's like the great barrier from star trek.

4:09 The Yuuzhan Vong actually are most likely from the farthest most satellite galaxy. Their galaxy was involved in a war between two droid races, the Silentium and the Abominor; at least one member of each race managed to make it to the Star Wars galaxy. What are the chances that both droid races, on top of the Yuuzhan Vong, crossed the intergalactic void for centuries in a random direction, with seemingly no known target, and happened to stumble across the Star Wars galaxy, which is said to be astronomically far away from the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy? The best explanation is that they were from Companion Grek, or whatever the farthest satellite galaxy was, since then all three races would actually know where they were going and have a mutual target, which is still far enough away for the trip to take several centuries. The cancelled Supernatural Encounters novella actually confirms this.

This is great, I was so disappointed in losing the Legends as Canon until watching your videos and you have brought them back in my mind as important as they ever were!
