WTF Top Fin!

Top Fin makes their tanks slightly off from other manufacturers, meaning that versa tops do not fit correctly, including Top Fins own versa top😮‍💨 Thanks for watching:)

If I were you, I'd take both glass lids back. Keep the original lid and filter. Then add a 5 dollar sponge filter to the tank. The current filter you have and the sponge will provide you with all the filtration you need.

Also your water is more than likely cloudy due to a bacterial bloom, which is quite common in new aquariums and will naturally clear up as the aquarium cycles.

I wonder if you could cut the glass with a glass cutter as well as cutting the plastic bit with a dremel tool? it really is annoying that the top doesn't fit, but that seems to be the general problem with the newer glass tops. Oddly enough, I was looking at glass tops at Petco's site & the reviews were mostly, "it doesn't fit" & "it arrived broken."

Cut the glass. It really is not hard to score glass. 😕
