Now we definitely need Roomie's top 100 songs list

Edit: Thanks for all the likes <3! I assumed that a lot of people were thinking the same thing so I took the initiative to write it.

I feel like roomie should make his own top 100 list

Who agrees that Joel should make his own top 100 of the decade list.

This list was definitely very heavily influenced by the creators personal opinions. Would be good to see a top 100 that's purely based on sales/streaming success instead.

Could be hard with how things have changed the past 10 years, but even taking the top songs of each year in comparison to each other to then determine their overall success.

I definitely agree that rock, indie, and even metal tends to have more longevity loyalty than pop. While I understand that Joel's main thing is pop, I'd like to see him do "deep dives" on other genres.

*flashback to when he kept saying "doesn't sound kpop enough"*

I heard Ophelia by the Lumineers a ton because when I used to pose for art classes (which I will go back to in the After Times) most of the professors want classical music, but one who would give me some leeway was ok with my "Florence and the Machine" playlist on Pandora. So that, Bastille, the Lumineers, that Ed Sheeran song from the Hobbit movie, that song that goes 'home is wherever I'm with you', stuff like that

I’m glad indie and rock songs are featured. Those were huge songs in their own right, even if they don’t fit into the pop mainstream.

The “personal preference” part was definitely a huge part of this list😂

I have learned as a music teacher that Imagine Dragons songs are not only popular when they’re released but they have a long-term stay ability. It is crazy the amount of second and third graders that I have asking to listen to Imagine Dragons songs from 2010. Some thing about their music to sticks around and continues to resonate with people long after it was released.

for "Paradise" by Coldplay, i felt so much nostalgia from that music video, that song was my favorite :)

90% of those songs were constantly playing on the radio in Germany, they were really huge

I used to be in my lane with rock music too. Now I'm learning how to appreciate other genres, like pop. That's mainly why I'm here!

Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots definitely deserves all them spots on the list, they were huuuge for the more alternative/rock listeners! I remember when Twenty One Pilots had 2 songs at the same time in the top 5 of the Global Charts

Think we can all agree that Sound of Silence by Disturbed is indeed one of the best covers there is. The raw power in his voice really gives me shivers every time I listen to it.

Im glad the indie/rock/alternative songs were mentioned but the creator missed out Do I Wanna Know and Sweater Weather. I mean those two songs were HUGE in the rock world and they're absolute bangers

Maybe he needs to do top charts by genre and explore them a bit more that would be fun

So good to see Linkin Park is on the list too, they have so much underrated songs, just love 'em, can't forget what impact they've done to world and personally to me as well

There are like 5 other Gaga singles between 2010 & 2020 I'd pick over Shallow. I get it was massive but musically & lyrically she has so much better

#87 made my day. Seriously. Seeing a Foo Fighters song ranked up there with the modern day "hit singers" and everyone kinda made me happy for the variety of genres we still see in the music industry

Just because it's not pop doesn't mean it's smaller, indie, less popular, etc. I really feel like videos like this really drive home how much he needs to diversify his musical palette. As a 2000s kid from the USA I agreed with about 95% of the list, a few songs were placed too low or shouldn't have been there at all but all in all it was a very well rounded list. I don't think there was "an Imagine Dragons bias" either, they were just very popular among a lot of people.
