Comparing Power Stations For Overland Travelers

I want to do a quick comparison between the Ecoflow River 2 Pro, the Bluetti AC180, and the Elechive for overlanders. These portable power stations are all different sizes, different outputs, and different manufacturers. I intentionally wanted various sizes to see what is really necessary to keep camp going. Lets check out and compare these power stations and features to see which fits you best.

I think you will be surprised at which I think is my favorite power station of the bunch.

In 2007 I took a route from Venezuela to Patagonia (Argentina ) in my series 78 Land Cruiser for 45 days, with a 80 Liter dc Waeco fridge and only one 800 watt cobra msw inverter for coffee maker, everything was DC, so I think these power station are oriented for Home Appliances, for me is better a battery, dc to dc charger and some small inverter fixed in your rig with all the ports you want. Thanks for the video !!!

Apples to Oranges comparison and you've missed a KEY factor: Zerobreeze isn't LiFePO4. The difference is longevity: The Ecoflow and Bluetti will last a decade and have 5 year warrantee. They're also more stable. It's a no-brainer trade off for being larger/ heavier.

The entire industry is moving towards LiFePO4 for this reason (but will probably end up being solid-state based). I honestly would not even consider a non- LiFePO4 power station at the moment.

May I ask what the problem was with the Bluetti charging your cooler?

I am having a Hiker Trailer built right now. I really needed to go with the Goal Zero system for ease of build out. I choose the Yeti 1000x system. This trailer will come with a mounted solar panel and a DC to DC charging cable. When I have enough money I want to expand the Yeti with a couple of expensive lithium batteries. I saw a youtube video on this and liked the setup. I am opting for this solution, instead of a larger Goal Zero because of this. In case I have to replace the Yeti, I want a price point of $1500 or less.

If you watch the channel Tinkerer's Adventure at all, he has a video on using the Victron Energy Orion 12/24-Volt 20 amp DC-DC Converter to charge the EcoFlow through its solar port while running the vehicle off the alternator. I can charge my EcoFlow Delta Mini at 300W (or 2.5 hours) from completely empty to full. Basically the solar input is the power limit. The Victron is only $150 and is worked great on the trip out to Expo Mtn West.

Made this comment on one of your previous battery videos. Wish you would have reviewed the Anker products in the mix. I have the Anker PowerHouse 767 and 757. The 767 goes with my F350 setup and runs just about anything and everything. Great unit but not for everyone due to its size. The 757 size is comparable to the Elechive and will be in my Bronco when it arrives. I don’t have built in battery systems and only use the power stations. The Anker units charge super fast and both have been super reliable since I’ve owned them. Purchased both with my own $$ and would spend the money again for either unit.

Many, many years ago Auto manufacturers had to change from their horse power ratings to brake ( rear tire) ratings, a "usable" number.
When will it be the same for these units.
Stating 1152wh is NOT what you will actually get.

You were right in the first video on bluetti! I'll just add they've had notoriously horrid customer complaints, horrible reviews of customer service. Night marish reports on returns. Look at the better business bureau. Lol. Do a search. The company is headquarterd and out of Huizhou china i think. Only been in business since like 2017? Good luck on that 5 or 6 year warranty!!!
Ever since the solar craze took off, with a lot of government funding quite a few "questionable" companies suddenly appeared. It be a good video to actually go through their track records and where their headquarters is based, how long they've been in business.
Lot of reviewers are giving good reviews (and ignoring the elephant in the room) because they are getting sponsored or appeasing. They want $ and units sent to them. But a 6 year warranty on a company thats hardly been in business for 6 years out of china? Bwah ha ha ha

Where is the reviews on the U.S. manufacturers? We do have them.

I'm not sure how it's a relevant or meaningful comparison comparing models with different outputs... kind of wanted a head to head comparison.
