This is definitely a track bike, the zip tie on the front fork is use to check the suspension travel to know if u are braking too hard or too soft and also as a marker to adjust the suspension. I dont think it can be used as a rag for leaking oil :P
Although nice video dude, really important key point.

I really like your videos, it's at a steady pace and it helps me understand section by section about motorcycles themselves, keep the good work up!!

A couple things I noticed when you were walking around the bike. The rear turn signals are after market and are underneath the bike attacked to the aftermarket fender license plate holder. Also the rear brake level is also aftermarket and is adjustable to be able to move forward or backward to the comfort of the rider. The fairings are aftermarket as well as you mentioned. Just my two cents on what I noticed.

I also bought myself a nonruning ducati monster m600 but I think that in my case the problems are the spark plugs, the old fuel and maybe the carbs which need to be cleaned. Good job with the video and good luck with the rebuild

I just bought a 2005 zx6r and while it is old it was maintained pretty well. But either way I plan on sinking some money into it to get it how I want it

One thing on the Chain and Sprockets - I look for if it has cupped teeth - is usually a sign it all should be replaced. Also at 9:31 - what is the Orange/Black Bike ? Looks Like a Yamaha R1... Love the Video's keep up the Good Work... maybe you will pick up a Ducati some time?

It's hard to find used bike that has never been dropped. But the most important thing is that bike has a potential to be repaired.
Maybe it's mistake, but I think that this 636 has a lot of potential. But I'm interested what you will say about engine when you dig into it. Keep up the good work, I really love your videos!

Btw sorry for my english, respect from Croatia

the ziptie on the fork is most likely to help finding the suspension setup and not put a rags

Very good video. Most things mentioned, chain, brakes, tires, seals etc are consumables and shouldn't necessarily be a deterrent from buying. They could be totaled up for bargaining leverage if your lucky. Also don't rely solely on a low odometer reading. On most bikes and this bike in particular it can be disabled in about 10 seconds.

I saw you had a fz6r in the background and was wondering if you know where I can some fairing for my bike. On mine its mainly the left side but idk if I should trust Ebay.

Hi, if I am to buy a bike that is not running as a project. How do I know that the engine isn’t scrap.. like if the cylinder and rods are ceased or something? Or something serious that require an almost new engine?

Great vids by the way. Learn alot!

Hey Rob, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the front wheel chock on your lift? I want to replace the one on my lift and was looking at ones like that instead of a clamping type that I have to wind.
Thanks Adam
