Ok people, i studied a lot of mixing/mastering theory and what i just came to talk is:
5 years later (almost 6)...I WILL MADE A NEW REMIXING/REISSUE.
I read all your messages and i have to accept that is a bit (to much) bass in the mix, so... I earn the original instruments of each songs (Included voice), ima try to mixing as I THOUGHT AJFA had always being.
You will be able to download it in flac, maybe 96, 000 Kb/s at 24 or 32 bits. LOVE U ALL and LONG LIVE AJFA. Bb

I don't understand why Jason Newsted gets so much hate. He's a god tier bassist. He deserves a lot more recognition than he gets.

This is the album that should have come out in 88

Holy shit, this is actually amazing! The bass makes it so much more darker, heavier, and so much more menacing

In my opinion, the best man to replace Cliff. A real fan and outstanding bass player. He played with heart!

When this album came my thoughts were “where is the bass?” This does some justice for Jason.

The Jason era feels the most aggressive, and I like it the most.

To be honest I was never in love with this album, always complaining drums were too loud.
Now I can hear a blimey pumping solid line? Why the hell is Jason so under rated. He is a very good bassist ! Very good!!!!

The bass closed everything, and it makes the whole harmony to be fulfilled

I would KILL for an actual re-release of AJFA with bass like this, Jason's playing and the overall bass arrangement throughout the album is truly excellent, just a shame you CANNOT hear it on the original release.

As a fellow Bassist I love and respect what you have done here. People say Jason doesnt get enough respect well I say Bassists dont get enough respect. A bass player makes the other band members sound better, they are the backbone of the band. Even behind the scenes its often the Bass players job to keep the band in check.

We all know metallica would never mix the bass like this but this sounds great

This is the best one yet. The bass isn't too passive nor too loud. It's perfectly harmonized into the mix. Good job.

Wow so good.. I've been listening to AJFA since it came out in 88... It amazes me they didn't mix bass like this, such a more deeper, heavy sound. Great job mixing..Newsted would be proud.

My favorite album. It's technical and dark and aggressive. And here it sounds like it's speeding down a two lane highway coming straight for your throat.

Jason is great. I saw him in Detroit on the Master of Puppets tour. He was kept at arms length because of what happened to Cliff; may he Rest In Peace. It is natural to build walls around the pain caused to James, Lars, and Kurt. I remember Jason from Flotsam and Jetsam. He kind of was like a gun slinger more than a member in Metallica. I saw And justice, and the Black Album 2 times. Kurt threw a beer on me and it was great because I was so hot from the pit. This was Kalamazoo. Wings Stadium is general admission. You can go about anywhere except where you need a pass. I watched Kurt throw down. Jason had some big shoes to fill and I think he rose to the challenge and beyond. He was held at arms length and had to tour and write bass parts. If you have never done what he did for years, you have no right to criticize him. You have a right to your opinion, but to me it is weak. Also, he is from Battle Creek, Mi. And all south Michigan is my area. I am proud of Jason forever.
