A Lot Of My Friends Don't Want To Work Anymore

For a lot of people. Once they become independently wealthy, they they just can't bring themselves to work or they just they don't want to work. And that's totally, you know, understandable and no judgment. I mean, I have a lot of friends who are extremely talented, and they, they, you know, have had some success, earlier in life and they just decided, you know, that was enough trauma.

Good friend of mine saying like or start starting a company is like eating glass and staring into the abyss.

So, so many people say, tell me like, well, what can you do to encourage entrepreneurs to start companies? I'm like, if you need encouragement, don't start a company.

Entrepreneurship isn't about needing encouragement; it's about having an unbreakable will. If you're looking for easy, you're in the wrong game.

My husband is a physician. He started out working for a clinic with a monster of a manager waaaay back in 1984. A year in and many calls home everyday about the abuse he was getting from this guy, I said “pack up your stuff and come home. We’ll start our own practice.” It was a nightmare in the beginning, but we stuck with it and became successful. Today, FORTY years later we’re still at it and my grown daughter now helps me run it along with a back office person who has been with us for 20 years. Go forth, be tough, don’t take crap from anyone. You control your destiny and don’t ever forget it. ❤

My Dad went to the Dept of Agriculture and had the soil tested to see what would be best to grow. Strawberries! My Granddad planted all strawberries all over the farm. They sold enough strawberries to build a 3 story home and start his business at Mack’s Market. Stayed in business all my life. Raised 9 children there.

Starting a company is a goal that AMBITIOUS people have. They have a deep seated DRIVE to SUCCEED AND they DON’T EVER WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO GIVE THEM SUCCESS!! They go out a GET IT!!!

My dad taught perseverance and endurance. We were not allowed to give up or quit just because it became difficult. He showed this by his example. Before he was 40 years old, he had suffered a tractor fall on his leg and a large piece of thigh muscle was removed. His appendix burst and he lived through a 108 fever. He broke his back and was paralyzed. He was told he would never walk again but he refused to believe it so he kept trying until he did walk and play farm team baseball again. My dad farmed until he was 70 years old under more pain than I could imagine but he was as strong as a bull. My kids and grandkids work hard together just as their parents did. We’re in our 70’s now and we’re a little worn out but we had a good life. Now it’s our family’s time to work together and play together.

I started my own company in 2017. By the time the pandemic hit and businesses were having to close, I had just gotten out of the red and began seeing a profit. It felt like I was in a nightmare.
Turned out, my business was considered “essential”. Refrigerator, AC n heat, and major appliance in home repairs. With everyone stuck at home, they had time to get things repaired. My business tripled over night. By the end of the pandemic I was well established and had made a name for myself. My business has continued to grow. But I know that things could change can any moment.
There’s good and bad in everything. You just have to accept it.

If I was Elon, I would have done exactly as his friends did! Life is much more than bringing in money. Once you are set, go and explore the world, focus on your health and wellbeing and enjoy the remainder of your life with your loved ones or alone; whichever is your preference. We only live once and you gotta use your life to its fullest. We do not live to work, we work to live!
