"My brain has too many tabs open"

Problem solving is where the dopamine and peace are at.

I feel you haha. I sit on the bus everyday staring outside wondering where people are going. Imagining their lives. Or I look at things and wonder how they are made. I'm so fascinated by peoples inventions and how the world and peoples minds work.

Oh my, this is exactly me, Lol. Honestly, my brain never stops running. It is even processing thoughts as I sleep, to the point where my thinking actually invades my sleep/dreams and often times wakes me up. I can be dreaming deeply and yet be totally aware of random real world thoughts going through my head at the same time. I don't know how to explain it, it's just.... strange.

Yes!! I relate to the “how it’s made”. When I’m eating snacks or doing an activity that involves an object, I tend to wonder how it’s made and have this urge to watch an episode of How It’s Made. Lol

My brain never stops thinking about games and how I can better myself in them but with my autism I get WAY too focused on them.

I read in a survival guide that the military find 21 uses for each item they carry. I find it fun or calming depending on the item.

I relate to this soooo much. I NEED to have some kind of project or something creative to obsess over or else I just feel empty and even more depressed than I already usually am.

For example, my current obsession is figuring out a way to make realistic wigs efficiently. I’m a hairdresser and I want to start a wig business and I want to make wigs that look really realistic, but current techniques required to do that are extremely labor intensive and tedious and I have no interest in that part.

So I’m trying to figure out a way to make them by machine somehow and it’s all I think about.

By the way I love that you mentioned Tamagotchis. I love them too!

The answer is dragons

Lol, yup. Was just contemplating the inner workings of a friend’s psyche while simultaneously mentally designing something I’m building in Minecraft, lol! Was pretty funny when I realized it. But hey, I figured out why my friend probably acts a certain way sometimes, AND figured out a cool thing for my Minecraft castle, win win! 😂

Yeah, and always reviewing things you've done, seeing if it can be done in a better way.

I'm just 24/7 trying to figure out how things work, what you can do with them, and problem solving...which is really just a 'puzzle' form of the previous two.

Also, accounting. Ethical and abstract value accounting.

Growing up I kept a mental tally of my allowance, my bank account, and any type of monetary transaction, to the penny. And I'd remember each and every transaction.

As I grew older, it grew to include ethics and other abstract metaphysical values, which turned out to be a great way to judge character.

These days, if I can't distract myself with observer/learning/problem solving tasks, I'm simulating plausible future events so I can prepare for or avoid difficult situations.

Once again, Dan, you nail it. My brain does the same thing and it is hard to relax (I don't think I've ever truly relaxed in my life. I was diagnosed as being hyperactive many moons ago (nowadays called ADHD) decades before Autism. Thank you for all you do.
