I've always liked this song. It was the perfect match for Nat's wickedly dry, wry sense of humor that was present on many of his song choices.

A REALLY BIZARRE SONG ABOUT A DUDE WHO CHAUFFERS HIS ROMANTIC INTEREST AROUND TO RENDEVOUZ WITH MEN JUST TO CHAT
IN SOCIAL ARENAS,
ONLY TO END UP IN BED WITH HER
WHEN HER SOCIALIZING WAS OVER.
ALL I CAN DO IS SHAKE MY HEAD, BUT NAT ALWAYS POSSESSED ONE OF THE FINEST VOICES IN THE HISTORY OF COUNTRY MUSIC. HE JUST NEVER GOT VERY MANY GREAT SONGS. HE WOULD HAVE HAD SUCCESS WITH A LOT OF THOSE
SOULFUL, ARTICULATE SONGS THAT WENT TO CHARLIE RICH, FOR EXAMPLE. BEST SONG THAT NAT EVER RECORDED WAS "I NEVER ONCE STOPPED LOVING YOU."
