Prematurity Awareness Month and the NICU

Dr. Ed Beaumont, the medical director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital was on WZZM’s Good to Go. The month of November is Prematurity Awareness Month and staff in the NICU commemorate past and present patients and their families. The NICU at the children’s hospital is the only Level-IV NICU in West Michigan and treats over 1,300 babies annually. Complete with a small baby unit, dedicated staff, and excellent parent-to-parent support systems, out NICU is one of a kind.
