I like how as you unravel more of the story by finding pictures, you'll notice that the pictures you find get automatically mounted on the wall in the background.

Stencil masking is ***awesome.*** Even knowing how the trick is accomplished, I'm still amazed by the effect it achieves.

Spoilers:

Stencil masking is a way to say "only draw when the mask meets some condition."
So the initial view (with the camera) is what I'm going to call the "base scene." This is always drawn.
Each side of the cube, then, has a surface that is either set to write 0 to the stencil mask when its rendered, or some other value when that side of the cube is "activated" (the glow-flash alerts the user to this change). Each face would use its own value (so, 1 for the first face where the suitcase is, 2 for the second with the dump truck, and so on).
In addition to the base scene you have all the other scenes that are visible through the other faces of the cube. Each of these is set so that those objects are not drawn unless the stencil mask has been set to the appropriate value. These other scenes get rendered in a second pass and only draw where they're "visible" as a result of the cube in base scene.

love the flat shading. the lack of textures forces you to think rather than observe . . . really nice touch

I would just like to meet the developers of the game and tell them what an amazingly beautiful game they’ve made as sometimes when you makes something you know inside and out you know all the small flaws of something and know ever small detail you know you didn’t get right but to anyone on the outside seeing this game for the first time it’s one of the best puzzle games I’ve ever seen and it’s absolutely gorgeous

First of all: an extremely clever game mechanic for puzzle solving. I intend to check out the developer's description and try the game, but before I do I want to make this comment: There is a very subtle implication going on here that the developer may or may not be aware of. It's almost impossible to describe with any intrinsic understanding, what it would be like to live in/experience 4 dimensions, much less depict it graphically. Most point to a 2D image or 3D model of a tesseract but that doesn't give a sense of the experience of moving in a forth direction - it simply illustrates what we would see as a "hyper cube" intersects or moves through our 3 dimensional perception. In 3 dimensions you can change your location along any one or two directions, but remain in the same location along the other axis, say, going from one side of town to the other but remaining at the same altitude - or - changing your altitude but remaining at the same street corner. In 4 dimensions you (most probably) can do the same thing. The fact that you can change your location within the 3D space of the cube face in this game without changing your location to the cube face itself, is analogous to changing location in three directions but remaining fixed in the forth axis. Being able to rotate or change your orientation to the cube faces (the forth direction) is similar to moving your location along the fourth axis. As a 3D modeler I have been trying for a long time to come up with a way to illustrate that a fourth dimension does not mean an alternate universe, or a separate 3D universe as most people think of it, it's just an additional direction to our perceived three in which we can not move or see. This is an elegant solution to that exercise.

The sound designer/s just went for it. The atmosphere he/they've created is so clean, peaceful and intriguing at the same time, both background music and enviornment noises are going so well together.

this looks REALLY good. I love perspective stuff. And the abstract story that it seems to be telling.

I don't like puzzle games that much but this is one I can get behind

I’m getting so many vibes from this game, I’m a huge fan of “the room” game’s I’m 100% all of them, played the newest one about 20 times, so seeing a game like this like puzzle solver and no intense loud music makes me so happy there’s a game like the room :)
