COGITO Tutorial 1 - Scene Setup (Godot)

This is part 1 of a new series, where I show you how to use COGITO to make a complete game.
In this video, I'll set up a Cogito project and a Level scene to work with it.

COGITO is a first Person Immersive Sim Template Project for Godot Engine 4. In comparison to other first person assets out there, which focus mostly on shooter mechanics, COGITO focuses on providing a framework for creating interactable objects and items.

after the series will be completed there will be a surge in new godot games everywhere... as many as eyes can see. NICE

Thank you so much. I'm currently gathering the resources to start learning Godot for making an ImSim-RPG, and this is going to make creating a first prototype at least 80% easier.

Excited about this framework, hopefully I can contribute. I'm planning on using this for a horror game. I also want to make a boomer shooter and may use this as a base for that also. great work

Hi Philip. is Cogito compatible with Godot 4.3? Whenever I equip a weapon, it does not appear, although the gun still works. What would cause this and how to fix it?

Do you have a discord or something to ask questions? I'm wondering if this is a bug, or how I could fix it. When you save a game, the scene you are currently in is saved, but other scenes are not. So for example, in the demo scene, you can go into the lab, pick up the gun, leave the lab, save. If you quit the game then load it again, and load the save, and go into the lab, the gun is back. How can I make it so that all scenes are persistent.

(they are persistent while the game is running, but the save game function only saves the scene you are in)

Thanks for the tutorial! I will definitely be using Cogito for my upcoming project. I do have one question however: How would I add viewport shaders to the scene, since re-parenting everything to the viewport breaks the hierarchy in the code? Thanks.
