It could be in my head but I've been on Clonidine for a week. The Adderall afternoon crash is a nightmare for me, so I used to take Xanax and Propranol to calm down (racing thoughts, racing heart, voracious appetite, horribly impulsive - only at night). After one week of Clonidine, I noticed that I not only feel like I dont NEED Xanax, but I'm pretty sure my appetite and SLEEP improved. One week! I'm here because I'm in total shock and I wanted to learn more about this drug! It could be a placebo affect 🧐 but, last night was amazing and I look forward to my next dose of Clonidine - placebo or not 😂

I was prescribed this for a stubborn motor tic I had years ago (It came back, which is why I'm here, it seems to be related to school anxiety) . I remember it made me so sluggish I was emptying the dishwasher and then I just stood there for a minute with a dish in my hand unable to move. Once the tic went away I stopped taking it. I was like a week. Shi works.

I’m having very bad opiate withdrawal right now, and my doctor gave me 0.2 mg of it for my symptoms. I really hope it helps. Does the medication take a few days to fully reach its effectiveness for WD? Thank you, doctor ☺️

Some things worth mentioning:

1. Take this medication BEFORE you fall asleep, it will make you really sleepy.

2. Many people i know who have taken this have claimed that this gives them night terrors, so if that is an issue please consider this warning.

I've taken this 3 pills a night. Been on it 10 years. Great for sleep, opioid withdrawal, and blood pressure. Cold turkey feels just as bad as opioid withdrawal once you been on it for a long time.

Can clonidine be used in small doses with guanfacine to be more effective for tics that were exacerbated by Dextroamphetamine and bupropion that had to be stopped because of worsened tics for an adult male?

Hi Dr Ally
You mention short acting 3 times a day, long acting one once a day. I think my son psychologist order it wrong he prescribed him 3 dosage of clonidine extend release 3 tablet to take per day. He’s only 10 year old and use to treat his adhd hypertension.

My sons dr said this can help him transition from day to night since he has problems unwinding. He needs melatonin to fall asleep, however he isnt diagnosed with adhd. He has "characteristics" of adhd but not enough to have a diagnosis. He has a lot of symptoms of ODD too unfortunately only at home. Do you agree this meds can help?i have been telling these Dr's that its like something clicks in his brain when he is tired. He is another child. (Night and a.m)

I cant get any benzos as im on suboxone, so i usually takes about 4 to 6 milligrams of clonodine for sleep. Again, it is because, benzos are dangerous...
