I was visiting my in-laws on Christmas a few years ago. I was around the same age as their daughter. They didn't make the daughter leave her room to interact with us. And honestly to this day I respect the hell out of her parents for not forcing her to socialize with strangers she'll never see again.

Legit, I remember my brother (age 27) said that after one of our cousins gave birth to a girl that would mean another one of our cousins would have a friend to play with during family events. To which I replied, "she's 7 right now, she can't make friend with a newborn" and he was like "no, I mean in the future" then I said "in like 20 years because 7 years is a pretty damn huge gap, by the time she's 18, the other one will be 11."

Yeah... I was at the house of my parents' friends. Their daughter had a friend over with whom she was out doing whatever. But the girl's Gameboy was there, so the mother let me play on it. There was Pokemon inside. (Now the first drops of sweat should start forming on your forehead) I started a new game, chose a Charmander and began roasting Pidgeys. I never played on a Gameboy before, but I loved the tv show. So after reaching a few levels and having my Charmander learn Ember I was very proud of myself.

So I saved the game.

GOD, I can just remember my parents’ friends bringing their kids 5+ years my junior with absolutely nothing to play with. I’d have to bust out my old GameCube and throw in some Double Dash because I didn’t have a ton of multiplayer games. Not like they were old enough to play anyway; most didn’t know they had to hold the A button to accelerate.
