18 years ago I did this. Man it feels like yesterday playing that last game and all of us seniors crying even though some of us were going to play in college we knew it wasn't gonna be the same as it was in high school

I was there when my brother played his last game in college . He cried like a baby coming off the field 😢I went to every game since he was about 7/8 Y/O. I didn’t realize how good you actually had to be to start at a D1 college until none of his HS teammates made it to a college team . Enjoy the memories guys while it last . He wasn’t good enough for pro but he gave his whole life to the game he loved ❤

I did that 42 years ago and cried like a baby. I knew I’d never put that on again. But the relationships developed during that time have lasted until TODAY. I’ve seen marriages, divorces, babies born and babies died, parents passing away layoffs and hires and we have been there for each other through it all.

I still look at my helmet sometimes, still sitting up on my shelf as i move house to house, it’s not about the school, or even football. It’s bigger than that, it’s about giving up a family you’ve loved dearly for so many years. Seeing your closest friends who you grew up with move on and apart, never seeing them again. Life sucks, i have a good job i have a good life i can have anything i want but yet somehow im still empty without my friends. Reminds me of how happy i was with so little

I still remember that feeling… 8 years ago.. I miss the game so much.. Got the high paying job and wife and house and newborn.. but those days were some of the best days. Enjoy it while you got it kids!

As a teacher, I can’t tell you how much this warms my heart. We underestimate how much school sports means to our students and COVID robbed so many kids of this experience. I don’t care how tired I am at the end of the day….. when it’s time to coach after school; I show up.

Miss my boys more and more every year. The Friday night lights, practice everyday after school, coaches that turned into fathers, girlfriend wearing game jersey, quite bus rides to games. I kept all my jersey in shadow boxes and will always be some of my best memories.
