It's nuts the amount of details that are in racing sims now. If someone was asleep since 1999 and woke up today to see this, their head would explode

Start your engines people because it’s going to be toxic in here.

That they pulled this off 2½ years ago on a console is unbelievable.

I've loved Gran Turismo from the very beginning, it helped cultivate my love affair with cars that still exists today. Can't wait to get my hands on GT7 for the PS5

Goddamn are GT Sport's lighting effects absolutely gorgeous. The shadow pop in annoys the crap out of me but the night levels are truly something else entirely.

I love my Forza, but GT sport is a beautiful game. The color on the cars really do pop and the camera work on the replays look great.

Cars in GT have more details than my car in real life.

I'm a Forza fan but here I find GT Sports lighting and color to provide such an amount of pop without going overboard that I might actually lean towards GT Sport here.

also GT Sport shines with HDR, those headlights during night races are a sight to behold!

Both these games are awesome, the rivalry is something I love as it has pushed each series further, each wanting to best the other.

Forza 7 is built on better hardware (in this case, benefits from PC specs). BUT - the guys in Polyphony Digital are just better artists. There is more to realism than just having better textures and details in individual objects in the game. It's the overall balance that matters, and the graphics team of GT Sport captures that balance much better, especially in terms of the lighting. It's much like the Jurassic Park films. The first Jurassic Park was made with far less tech than Jurassic World, but Jurassic Park 1 looks far more believable than Jurassic World. Artistry will always beat tech.

GT Sports is incredible. Driveclub still has the best weather effect for any game. no game come close to that amazing weather effect.

Digital foundry is the only channel where I press the like button as soon as video starts, keep up the good work of providing detailed analysis.

As a Forza fan I have to say the lighting in GT is way better which gives it overall a more realistic look

7:01 - anyone else noticed that Edge Line is floating over asphalt producing some funny parallax ?

I think on a personal level, that GT takes the cake for looks, being a developer myself, it makes sense why thy went the routes they chose. Each use different Engines to build, and that does make a difference on what you are capable of doing. Both look wonderful but i feel Forza is too "flat" in a side by side comparison.

If GT sports had a PC version running on Ultra 4k . I would never leave my room ever again.
