In 1964, Stanton became a separate company from Pickering although Stanton still made cartridges for Pickering. The V-15 series with Pickering/Stanton being separate companies.
When Pickering released the V-15 model, Stanton released their version as the calibrated 581 model. When the 581 was retired in 1968, it was rebranded as the model 500 and marketed as the "Broadcast Standard" for the broadcast industry. The 500 is not the same as the V-15, with different stylus assemblies and a different coil design.

There are a lot of posts on the internet saying that the Pickering V15 is the same body as the Stanton 500. No way! I have both and used the same stylii on each and the V15 sounds far superior. They do look alike but the Pickering is just better.

I use the V15 with the D AME 3 stylus which is .0003 x .0007 diamond eliptical on my TD-124 and love it.

That's weird, from the measurements it seems like the V-15 performs better. Less high frequency resonance and less ringing in the square wave

I thought the V-15 and 500 bodies were identical, but as you show in the specs they are not. Also, on your V-15 the mounting bracket is welded father forward than on mine (and on the 500), so a 500 stylus with its top ears would not fit on this V-15. I think both sound great with a good stylus.
