Common t-con board problems for LED TV Repair Review - No Image on screen

Before you begin your repair, be sure to unplug your TV from any power source and properly ground yourself. We have already removed the back cover of our TV, but you will want to remove all of the screws connecting your back cover to your TV and then simply remove the back cover piece.
We have already removed the cover for our T-Con board right here, but this LED driver also has a cover. Here is what the T-Con board cover looked like originally, before we unscrewed it. So if you are doing any repairs to the backlight inverter/LED driver or the T-Con board, you will need to remove the covers for each of them before you replace the board.
Removing the covers can be simply done by removing the screws that hold them to the panel. The T-Con board actually takes the image and sends it to the panel which makes it show up on your screen. You can see the T-Con board is connected to the LED driver/Backlight inverter here and then connects to the panel via these cables here.
Some common problems with the T-Con board is that if you have no picture on your screen, but your TV does have backlights and sound, that could be the T-Con. It could also be the main board, but the T-Con could also be at fault if the is the symptom. You could also have colored vertical lines on your screen or half of the screen is missing the picture. Those would both be symptoms that could be bad T-Con board.

Samsung, UN60EH6000F - First the Screen was black with sound when i turned on the TV. After watching your wonderful videos I replaced the T-Con board with the new part BN95-00628C. After installing the new board the TV then camon and the screen was great - for about 2 minutes the it "faded" to black. Now, if I turn it off wait a few minutes when i turn it back on it looks good for 30 seconds to a minute then "Fades" to black. I would appreciate an new ideas or advice. Thanks to your team for helping so many people avoid expensive repairs. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Looking at purchasing parts. I believe I need a main board or t con, but I'm leaning to main board since my backlight works but I have no picture no sound. The sound issue is why I'm leaning to main board instead of tcon. The toslink port doesn't light up and my multimeter shows no power being sent to the speakers. The tcon receives power from the main board.

I have Samsung un65mu850dfxza fc04 and I am experiencing intermittent vertical lines, fuzzy screen and double imaging. Some one had covered one of the vents in the middle of the bottom of the tv and I believe the component there got heat damage. So far everything I have seen suggests the t-con board but would like to confirm prior to purchasing. Your assistance is greatly appreciated

I have an LG50LN5700 that needed backlights. I bought the lights from you put them in, they work great! The problem is when I put the TV back together. I chipped the OUTSIDE silverish bottom right edge of the screen about an inch. I doesn't go into the black portion of the screen. But now I have what resembles a very dark grey/purple/black storm cloud when I turn the TV on. Did I ruin this TV ?  thank you

Great Video! I am looking for T- con board for Panasonic 58DXW784.
The board is producing vertical stripes left side, near the border of the display. What is the part number of the T- con?

I have a vizio m501-ar2. It had a horizontal line going across the display. I was testing the ribbon cables to the t-con board by simply pulling them out and reinserting and I ended up with vertical lines. I replaced the t-con board with a brand new one oh, and I still have colored vertical lines with a thick black vertical bar just left of center of the screen. Good there appears to be good voltage throughout the t-con board. Thoughts on next steps?

I have vizio m43-c1 with vertical lines on left half of screen after power up. Vertical lines only occur after TV has been off for a while and 1-3 minutes after powerup vertical lines go away and picture is fine. I thought it was bad tcon so I replaced it with known good one but it didn't.
Thoughts?
Do you think the power supply is failing? As I mentioned, issue doesn't occur at every powerup, only after tv has been off for a while (after a cap somewhere has drained down?)
Once the vertical lines clear after initial powerup, you can turn TV on and off as many times as you like without the vertical lines reappearing. Off for an hour or so...problem reoccurs upon powerup for 1-3 min.

Hello, I have an LG 65uf6800. I JUST opened the box. I purchased it over a year ago but never used/opened it. My problem started within 3 hours of use. All inputs would have an image that flickered. The menus would be fine, no issues. The flickering would happen only in the input windows. If I opened Netflix, I would be able to see eveyrhting and do everything but will only screw up when pressing play to play it. The next day, the videos were all white/snow. So it went from flickering to snow, the menus had lines on it. The day after just a black screen with audio. I am having issues figuring out what part I need to replace it. T-con is my first choice, then Powersupply/LED Driverboard, third is Main board. Any advice???

Hi I have a Sharp LC-60LE640U and the picture went out but we do have sound and backlight so I'm thinking it's the tcon board. Just wondering if it was pretty easy to replace myself? I am going to order the part today just wanted to make sure it's something I can replace myself or do I need any special tools?

I have a LG 42LE5400-UC that displays several colored lines ( maybe 20 or so) on the left hand side of the screen. The lines show up when the TV is powered up and slowly disappear over a 5 or 10 minute period. They also show up on all inputs. The number of lines have been increasing over time. I have been pointed at the TCOM board as the source for this issue. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks you. Bill

I have a Vizio M3D650SV TV. I am getting two black vertical lines on screen(one right & one left side). I suspect it's the T-Con Board. I would first like to get hold of a Service Manual. Also, the price and availability of a t-Con Board for this model. Thanks.

Hello Shop Jimmy,
I have a Samsung LN52A650A1FXZA LCD television in which the sound fails after a certain period of time and then there is a noticeable buzz before the television automatically powers down and then turns back on. At which time the sound restores, until a certain period of time, then the same problem happens again. The frequency of the problem is reduced when the sound is set to zero through the television speakers and run through the tuner. Thank you for your time on this matter.
