When I retired my DeWalt cordless tools I went with Bosch don't have to worry about my batteries walking and I like the ergonomics better than the DeWalt.

I'm a tiler by trade, I've been using my bosch grinders, drills, batteries, chargers etc in the 18V range and they cop a ton of dust from stone, sillica and cement and so far, though they are dirty, they have had no issues and are still powering through like new. Even my brushed cheap grinder I bought nearly a decade ago is chugging on and it was only meant to be a temporary buy.
In comparrison all the boys at work use Milwaukee and hands down, Milwaukee are much, much, much more powerful tools, particuarly their drills and impact drivers, but after 2 years of work from the dust, some of the Milwaukee tools are starting to die. So I absolutely back your early statements with the dust and commerical industry Bosch is focused on, because if I were a chippy it'd be the last brand I'd buy, but absolutely if you want longevity of tools for a trade off of power, Bosch Blue slaps.

I believe you in the USA are convinced that the Earth spins around Milwaukee, but in Europe Bosch rules, side by side with Makita.i Milwaukee and even DeWalt was pretty much unknown only 5 years ago

I think that Bosch has bad brand recognition. no gimmick and no synergy. Top notch tool company with a fair amount of innovation no flash.

Bosch is far better than any US brand.

This is a damn shame, Bosch makes some of the best corded tools, yet Lowes doesn't carry them.

As soon as you learn that Bosch Professional is almost always quality over everything, then you don't need to search for their products in a local store, especially because local stores often charge an extra dime. You just order the Bosch item that fits your need from Amazon or whatnot and off you go. I started with the 12V drill and since it was so good I bought 2 more. I still love those drills. When they started their 18V line-up, I was pretty hesitant to buy any tool of that line-up because of the massive investment done by myself in 12V previously ... but it didn't help and soon I got a hang on the 18V sander and I love it! Fast forward to today and I have a room full of Bosch devices. I can't say a bad thing about any of these tools.

The 18 volt never went anywhere, but the 12 volts are great. Incredible batteries that interchange with their INCREDIBLE laser systems.

Bosch tools are great but their marketing in US is really poor.

I think the biggest problem with Bosch tools is I have always seen them in industrial applications.. I have looked at Bosch cordless stuff but their wasn't much around.. In Canada Canadian Tire had them but they just were not selling that much... Most people I know think they are just another cheap tool because they didn't see any contractors using them... They are just not out there in the contractors hands and most home owners want what the contractors are using

The Bosch 18v batteries are better and far more compact than Milwaukee.

I have to disagree with your take on Bosch tools. I have quite a few Bosch tools. Corded, 18v and 12 volt. They are all fantastic tools, and I got most of them on sale. My appreciation for the brand goes back to the Bosch barrel grip jigsaw which to this day IMO is still the best jigsaw on the planet. I also have to disagree about the sales. Lowes frequently puts Bosch tools on sale and gives free batteries, or a battery and a charger. Just today I purchased the 18v compact reciprocating saw for $129 and got two free 4ah batteries. The quality of the tools is always top notch. I have frequently used batteries that are at least 8 years old and have never had one fail. I also have a couple Dewalt 20v tools that I couldn’t pass up because a got a fantastic deal on them. I got a steal on a high torque 1/2 impact that came with a charger and 5ah battery for $150. The DeWalt tools are fine but I still believe that when you catch them on sale Bosch offers some the best value for dollar tools on the market. It’s not the sexiest brand out there, and they don’t have in your face marketing like some other tool brands, but they are still very relevant. I’m a firm believer in that when it comes to tools… any tools you should buy what makes you happy. For some it’s Festool, for others it’s Milwaukee. For me it’s Bosch. I get the fiz when I use my Bosch tools, and if your tools give you the fiz, you made the right choice, regardless of who the manufacturer is.

Yea their corded tools are great. Definitely like their routers.

Honestly in my area everyone has Milwaukee. The pawn shops sit on every thing else. But if a Milwaukee lands on the shelf it is sold in a couple days for double the money. Everything else sits and collects dust.

If you're a professional worldwide and you want the best of the best you have 3 choices Hilti Bosch and Festool

Makita will be the next in line to be swamped by Milwaukee and Dewalt. Bosch has great tools but they don't have much of a brick and mortar retail network here.
