Staying safe and having fun in the summer is easy, as long as you prepare for outside adventures. Here are 6 tips for a fun, safe and healthy summer for the whole family:

1) Sun protection! Make sure to keep children and infants out of direct sun exposure, and apply sunscreen at least every 2 hours for optimal sun safety
2) Limit activities in the sun during peak hours – between 10am-2pm
3) Use bug spray to prevent bites, and limit playtime near stagnant water
4) Wear long pants if going for hikes in the woods to help prevent any contact with poison ivy, oak, or other poisonous plants.
5) Create and keep a first-aid kid handy
6) Practice pool and water safety
