Apple will base the next-generation iPhone SE on the design it used for the iPhone XR, claims leaker Jon Prosser, citing new information from his sources.

In the latest episode of the Geared Up podcast with Andru Edwards and Jon Rettinger (via AppleTrackr), Prosser claims that "The SE 4, from what I understand - and I don't think I've said this publicly - is just the ‌iPhone‌ XR."

The iPhone SE would be the perfect phone to put Touch ID into the power button and give us a full screen display without the dreaded notch. You get Touch ID, you get a bigger screen, everyone is happy.

If they could just move the SE lineup into the mini lineup - so they release the iPhone 15 mini at an SE pricepoint, but keep the full size screen and battery life (camera isn't super important to most SE/mini users), it would be pretty good. Diehard home button users can get an iPod touch from 2019, or maybe Apple could refresh the iPod touch lineup. Either way, home button days are done for the iPhones.

I'm really hoping they keep touch ID or make it an option on all the phones... but also, was hoping for a new design not just a complete reuse of an older model, but it looks like it's going to be that way. If it is that way, imma just wait until iPhone 15...

SE should always have Touch ID and a small form factor especially for a lot of people who don't like large or even thick phones. Many of us love iPhone 8 design and have no intention of switching to a new one. If SE4 is very different than SE3 then I'll just stick to SE3 for a very long time.

I hope for the IPhone 15, they bring back this XR curve design. The XS max was a nice looking phone and felt nice in the hands.

We ALL KNOW Apple HAS THE TECHNOLOGY TO IMPLEMENT TOUGH ID into the SIDE BUTTON like the power button on the iPad

The SE should use the frame of the mini. The line up would be all square designed and uniform and would make more sense (for me)

It would make more sense, to make it the 8 plus size with the Home Button!!! Most people like the home button, its much more convenient, than without The SE PLUS makes much more sense!!!!
