for 40-60k you can easily build a awd ss that can outpace a basically stock trackhawk. I personally would go the route of throwing a manual transmission in it. But, you could also just get a clean awd ss for saw 20k and leave it mostly stock. 390 hp and tq is more than most people know what to do with on an actual track and more than you can practically use in daily driving.

A couple things worth mentioning...

LSA blowers. Used to be cheaper, but can be done for about 6k.

Cams, LS motors love them.

If you blow your ls2, you can swap in a L92 shortblock for less than an la2 and have more cubes for more power. You can also swap in the 6L80 for faster shifting and better gearing.

Theres a LOT of support for these in the aftermarket. Anything you could want suspension wise exists. Brake options that are real.upgrases are minimal without switching to 5 lug hubs (the stocks are a unique 6 lug size). Thrn you cam throw on whatever high performance gm oem.setup you want, corvette, ctsv, camaro, whatever. A couple of guys have already made kits to do those as well but require different wheels. Theyre pricey though. Baer also makes a big brake kit for the front and rear.

Theyre fairly spacious, can tow like a champ (the WK SRT Jeep cant tow hardly at all), and overall are great vehicles with plenty of parts and are overall robust. Had mine 2 years and love it. The big issue is that after youre full bolt ons, it becomes a slippery slope of upgrades. An LSA is within 2k of a tvs2650 kit which is better. A built 4L60 is 6 grand, whereas a 6L80 swap is 7-8k, and better. Do those two and youre 15-17 grand into a vehicle thats worth at best 30k if it was a super clean absolute mint low mile 09 3SS. Its still cheaper tondo that than buy a trackhawk or wk2 srt jeep or most anything else, but unless you're gonna keep it forever you're never going to recoup that money.

I still have my old 72 Barracuda with a cast iron Hemi engine I run jet fuel in it still has the original Roadrunner sticker on it only 78, 000 miles on it and what you believe in 1987 I only paid 500 bucks for it in pristine condition

These were my exact thoughts before I got my SS...I'm just getting into my build, and would love to do a 402 stroker (possibly blown) with a 6l80e. Im sure I could make it in under 80k. 😅

I mean my budget as for the parts is at $18k so he not lieing. Procharger itself was $7900

Not knocking the confidence but from having a Awd trailblazer ss it’s just not worth the money. The reliability and the length of that reliability is the hard part. You can put that build together and it just breaks and breaks over and over.

Trackhawk is more expensive but it’s worth the money

Escalade build would beat a Trackhawk. Out the factory they already have 400hp

I smoked a trackhawk down my windy road in Monterey CA, in a ford expedition 2001 5.4 litre v8. Just cause you got the power doesn't mean you know how to operate rhe truck.
