I don’t want to hate because that was a super good point by both sides, but this shows why you have to find an angle with your overhead. The ball just keeps coming back!

The later you contact your overheads, the deeper they land. Swinging and contacting early makes them land shallow or closer to the net and gives your opponent more of a chance to return them.

Also fake and plop a few baby dinky drops in at an angle once both opponents are behind the baseline. If they reach them it's almost certain you'll get a pop-up meatball you can bury in an open spot. Hit 'em where they ain't.
