China's involvement with African militaries is not new but has always been helpful. Africa needs strong defense of its borders and resources, however, I disagree that the CCP is somehow separate from China as a Nation, it may be distinct in its relationship to citizens, just like the Courts, etc., but it doesn't present a decision to be made about allegiances.

China Militarization in Africa is nothing about ties. There is truly no cohesion to be had.

But the fohesion exists in maintaining the the Africa AND China Economic relationship.

There is No agenda. Just Mutual Benefit on Agreeable terms.

Africa can work with China and Russia on sevral levels according to what Africa needs to reach growth needed. Need to learn from each other. China and Russia has alot to offer as Africa have too. However, openminded, not forgetting Africas sovereignty.

The ideas might be right but the vocabulary isn't. China does not consider in terms of "projection of power" or "expeditonary force" which are vocabulary of western imperialists. Military strength is needed to protect Chinese people and Chinese investment as well as African partners, people and infrastructure on the continent. China is an expert in policing against terrorists and gangs.

Look at Sri Lanka ( or Ethiopia). If not for China help military wise Sri Lanka would still be in civil war or became part of Tamil Nadu.
