Midas was a true historical figure, the king of Phyrigia his tomb was discovered in his capital city of Gordiom in the sixties. Inscriptions found within the tomb tell us his name was not Midas rather Mida. His name also can be found elsewhere in what the Greeks, possibly Plato named Pyramida (Fire of Mida). The fire representing transformation and the gold Christos in Greek, a reference to the trancendant experience that the Pyramida as it is known in Greek today energised.
