Stairway to Hell | Hawaii 100 Highest Peaks

In this new episode go Hawaii 100 Highest Peaks we are hiking to Stairway to Hell a spot as well known abandoned staircase in the Ko'olau Mountains. On the way we hiked to the top of #74 high peak "Peak 2826" which how the name suggest it is 2826 feet tall.
This a great journey to a variety of terrain which leads you from Aiea Ridge to the KST and down Moanalua Valley.
Stairway to Hell is. not to be confused with Stairway to Heaven.

One of my favorite videos ever! I just rewatched it!

The stairs are part of the stairway to heaven. Part of the old omega station. There was a cable spanning the valley and the stairs were used to access the anchor points on each side. Another cable linked to that cable and went to the building on the valley floor. I hiked it before h3 was built about 35 years ago. Too bad they want to remove stairs, sad.
