All semis are limited to 80-90 kph for safety reasons, there is a software limiter cutting the power. So basically you won't see semis in Europe going much faster than 50 mph. With lower speed the Tesla semi could probably be more efficient and gain more mileage compared to US values. We do also have heavier semis in Finland, but most are still in acceptable Tesla semi range.

I think you are misinterpreting what the Uber CEO guy was saying.

He is not saying that this is good that we think that way, but just stating the fact that humans would rather have a faillible human behind the wheel that they can sue or otherwise get repayment from after the accident, rather than just a robot that fails 100x less but when it happens you just get told 'sorry you got unlucky move along now'

Another way to put it is people want a scapegoat in front of them to be angry about and they can put a clear blame on, rather than a faceless company who is gonna hide behind a software bug etc...

The argument that people won’t let strangers use their cars was the same argument against Airbnb

I start my job at 6am my car could go pickup a commuter who needs to be at work at 7, 8, 9 and then give rides to ppl who are just running errands then I get off at 2:30 and home by 3, then it could go give rides to ppl who get off at 4, 5, 6 etc… we don’t all work the same schedule…
We don’t all work the same schedules… I also work other shifts, weekends and nights and would be happy to make extra cash off my car….

Why is it "Illegal" to arrange a boycott? This screams of a SLAPP suit which is nothing to be proud of. It's just says I am bigger than you and have more money. As for them closing their doors, here in Asia that is a common practice, get sued, close for 90 days open under a new name and new management pick up where you left off. Is it collusion or free speech?

re: the 49:40 clip
first of all, "To be "woke" politically in the Black community means that someone is informed, educated and conscious of social injustice and racial inequality, Merriam-Webster Dictionary states."

second of all the full interview is on youtube, I'd link it here but daddy youtube wont let me so here is the title:
"Full interview: U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs | Code 2017"
and in that video, that clip is around 40:55 if you want the context

I liked Elon's reply about the opportunity to talk with Harris. It gives me hope.
I became an even bigger fan of Mark Cuban today. I think he hit what at least should be a sore spot.

Regarding the test car at the beginning, I think the big difference is camera/ visual field geometry. Remember how scary it was when Zach was pulling out onto that one street in Boston a while ago, and it looked like without intervention, he would have crashed into an oncoming car. This placement has front and side facing cameras higher up and more laterally facing, while the front fender cameras have a more swept back angle to look for rear approaching objects. I think this camera placement would have allowed the cameras to see that oncoming car, just like we would look out of the side window for oncoming traffic at that kind of intersection. I believe this would give a better 360 field of view, especially since the 3 is lower riding, so higher camera placement would be able to see farther over more objects.

The camera in the window is where the new vehicles B pillar will be.

Did you guys test the intersection Jesse almost got T-bone at during recording, backbon version 11. It was the episode where Jesse had to slam on the brakes (lots of profanity followed lol) and you speculated that it was because the car couldn't see

Uber CEO isn't a moron, he's just doing a self-serving little tap-dance, while apparently not doing much to counter the actual competitive threat.

You (deliberately? ) misrepresented what the Uber CEO said about deaths on the road. His example was 100 people die per day at the moment and if a Robotaxi was 10 times safer, then 10 people a day would die. His argument was that we, as the public, would not accept that and despite being 10 times safer, a robotaxi killing 10 a day would not get approval from regulators or us. We, as the public, are "happy" to keep the existing system that kills 10 time as many. I think this is probably true.

They don’t say how many times drivers intervened during those fsd miles. I haven’t had any accidents when using fsd, but I have also intervened on every drive except 2 or 3. That skews the statistics by A LOT.

Why would it be illegal to boycott a company?

49:48 The historical definition of Woke is not what Elon and republicans have turned it into.

Webster: “aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)”

What is wrong with being “Woke” by that definition?

There's a Teslarati article from mid-May titled "Apparent Tesla Model 3 test vehicle spotted with no side mirrors and unique camera setup" that has what looks like that same black Model 3 with weird cameras. I thought you covered it at the time, and I'm surprised you didn't draw this connection.
