As a South Korean who finished the mandatory duty, I'm 98% sure the guy is from the South. I don't think North Koreans can casually hang a South Korean singer's poster on the wall and have a personal smartphone to past time. When I served(2016-2018) the soldiers weren't allowed to keep their phones freely, and you'd be punished and spend time in military jail for 7 days or something, which is fucking crazy lmao Now the rules have changed and they can use their phones but only during certain time I think. The guy in the video was probably not allowed to use it atm and was trying to hide it lol
