Jonas Kakoschke and Mareike Geiling are Co-initiators of the organization, Refugees Welcome—or Fluchtlinge Willkommen, which addresses housing problems and accommodations for refugees in Germany. They advocate that refugees should have the same rights as permanent residents, regardless of their reasoning for immigrating.

Fluchtlinge, Willkommen is a flat-sharing platform connecting migrants to locals through co-living. Instead of placing immigrants in huge, centralized accommodations, both groups have the opportunity to learn from one another and can more quickly adapt to their new country.

Mareike Geiling studied religion and culture studies in Berlin, Germany. Her involvement in various initiatives includes the problem of undocumented migrants in Berlin. In Fluchtlinge, Willkommen, Mareike directs the press and public relations. She is also a volunteers’ manager and is responsible for the planning and implementation of the internationalization of the project.

reSITE is an international platform connecting people and ideas to improve the urban environment. We work at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, politics, culture, and economics.

We feature thought leaders whose work pushes the boundaries on how we build, design, regenerate and create life in cities, and frame them through many lenses, convening them in one place. We act as a catalyst for social action and innovative leadership. We encourage an exchange of ideas about making cities more livable, competitive, and resilient. We protect and promote public space, architecture, and sustainable development in cities.

All to make our cities more livable, competitive, resilient, inclusive, mobile, and designed with humans in mind.

I am an Asian man with a Masters Degree from TU Darmstadt. I moved to Munich for job and started househunt (my net salary is nearly 7 times that of rent of targeted flats). The response rate was less than 2%, and few of them clearly stated that they offer rooms only to other Germans. Now I come to this youtube video to see a chiselled faced Caucasian man doing textbook vitue signalling. How about changing Allgemeine Gleichbehandlungsgesetz ?
