5 IMPRESSIVE THINGS about HafenCity, Hamburg, Germany

I am currently in Hamburg Germany. I've always been curious to know more about HafenCity. So I emailed them and they accepted to give me a tour. Great short overview! I have been watching the development for the last 20 years I live in Hamburg and just moved to Hafencity in January! Yeah!

very cool video. I used to work just 100m from the Hafencity and spent many lunch breaks there, walking around or chilling in the parks. It's such a nice urban area, mostly car free (the Metro was in place before most of the houses actually got built) and indeed for everyone, even though most apartments are expensive. I remember discussions during the planning phase of the Hafencity becoming a dead space for rich people, which never happened, quite the opposite fortunately. I hadn't seen the newer developments yet, thanks for showing us around :)

The thing I dislike about HafenCity is, it looks boring. Every building looks exactly the same. Just ugly brick blocks. I think the more obscure parts of Hamburg like Osdorf, Lurup, Horn and Wandsbek are a lot more interesting.

Why is it not called Hafenstadt? Are they trying to be trendy by using an English term?
