As a Technical Specialist Honey Bees, Liz's work is about ensuring beekeepers, industry and government are across the latest developments in the industry to ensure a profitable and sustainable industry into the future. The outbreak of Varroa Mite in NSW in 2022 has had a huge impact on Australian beekeepers and Liz continues to support beekeepers in implementing changes in hive management to combat the effects of the ongoing presence of Varroa Mite in Australia.

As Australia’s largest and one of the oldest agricultural research and development providers, NSW DPI undertake research across all primary industry sectors, environments and systems delivering meaningful impact to productivity, sustainability, biosecurity and food safety - improving yields, food security, sustainable production, and speed to market.
