Yep, boost from Turbo chargers severely mute sound. Yet they massively boosts power.

Even with aftermarket exhaust the turbos are always going to be somewhat of an obstruction which will affect note, resonance, and flow. ZR1 was a mind blowing reveal and an amazing shot across the bow to all but I'm more than ecstatic with the records z06 broke as highest displacement fpc and most hp for NA. Add to that its amazing forward redirect exhaust to add to the experience and its sound while still delivering low rpm torque at that extra litre of displacement and that's what makes a c8 z06 a winner for me. Zr1 is extra money for ultimate kill card. I don't need that myself and when i take delivery next june i will have more than enough to learn and play with on a red mist on black wheels and aero track weapon.

Z06 sounds better stock, hands down. Love the ZR1 though but it needs mods.

Anyone else wonder if they're making a hybrid Zora with the LT6 instead? Nurburgring test videos of the hybrid "zr1" almost sound like a Z06. And those test cars also have a less aggressive, flush fit Zr1 air intake ontop of the rear hatch..

Afterall Tadge Jeuchter said the Zr1 will be the most expensive C8 model.🤷‍♂️ That would be pretty cool too.. I just really hope the Zr1 stays ICE-only & they don't offer a 'zora' option on actual Zr1's. Cause then most people will opt for the hybrid.. which are just worse. Far heavier, more expensive, more complex & more tame in terms of handling.

When you put turbos on an engine it muffles the sound by the nature of how turbos work, LT6 will naturally sound better because it’s naturally aspirated, but it also can’t make 1064 hp on 93.
