The one thing that really sets this knife apart is the fact its differentially tempered. You dont go into any details on the benifits of actually having that? Does it hold a finer edge longer? Does it make the edge more brittle? Does it Make the overall blade more impact resistant? Katanas yeah but used for 2 totally different things. I just ordered this knife so in a week ill know. Im just curious do you think it made any difference?

I may actually buy one now. The Rocky Mountain tread is uncomfortable for me and I have a bunch of hotspots when I tried one. The regular scales will have me checking it out as soon as I can get my mitts on it.

just to let everyone know I called tops and they will make the silent hero knife with the smooth Micarta handle for you but you have to order it over the phone. It's not in production so it's not available on their site. It is still the same price $240 to have the smooth Micarta handle instead of the Rocky Mountain.

I know this has nothing to say about the knife but it looks great. I am interested in the future of getting a bk7 I for sure will. But I recently got a ultrafire 2000 lumen e17 flashlight. I was wondering if you ever looked at it cause I love it and is great, variable zoom, rechargable batteries, lightweight.
