I love that Nuke scene when the Marines go in and blow the ship, gives me a true Alien's vibe

It's so cool how Alien and Warhammer 40K were such an influence for this game. All implemented respectfully and with style. This is the quality you got in the 90s when true nerds were still in charge of making video games with the right amount of time, resources and appreciation. They put love and dedication in every single detail and it shows.

"I love you, Sarge!"
I always laugh at this part, aged like fine wine.

Damn, the M9 Beretta still in service after 500 years, now that's a classic.

Stukov had _no idea_ just how "all the way" he was going to wind up going.

I always appreciated the "we're all dead! Blow it! Blow it!"
Becsuse of the two-fold pathos it adds

Not only is that Marine calling for the detonation because he knows theyre dead and if they dont destroy it who knows what will come from the zerg infecting a science vessel...

He also wants a quick death instead of being slowly killed or even assimilated by the zerg

Masterfull character building if you ask me

These cinematics were burned into my mind as a kid. 🔥

Say whatever you want but Mensk speech always gives me shivers. He may be a tyrant but his leadership is legendary.

Battle on the Amerigo is by far the best Starcraft cinematic...

Look at 32:16
Dominion and UED forces together, collaborating each other knowing they're doomed, knowing the zerg would kill them both, doesn't matter what faction they come from.

The good ol days. When blizzard made a game that didn’t cost more than the initial price itself. 14-year-old me was so excited to play this when it first came out.

The good old days when the Zerglings had Hydralisk heads. :D

Man, I miss these. This was the time when I still watched the opening cinematics every time the game booted.

The opening dialogue is exactly what i would expect from a bunch of workers in remote space. With the curated shit we get nowadays i almost forgot what authenticity felt like.

At 32:16 we see a UED & Dominion marine standing side by side knowing that they are doomed

10 years later, we know from where Dead Space got that reference.

En Taro Tassadar.
😢

His love for his people. The Protoss and Aiur, even keeping an open mind to the dark templars, his brethren, against the conclave's wishes. Similarly merging of both Khalis and Uraj(seen in broodwar).
His act of sacrifice. Becoming one with 'the force' to kill the overmind for his people.

Till this day, somehow whenever i see his features (not that i understand protoss features), i always feel his sadness at the long gone Golden Age of protoss's Aiur, his own People at War internally, his.

And the corrupting touch of Zerg, and the fall of Aiur..

Ahhh~!!!

Now, i am 34. this storyline still hurts and brings a tear.
similarly, of my childhood and experiencing this story. (it was only when i was 16 that i replayed broodwar and understood the literature and storyline behind the game and mission objectives)

*sigh*

Thanks for reading!

1:46 -- funny thing. Only *NOW* do I realize that there are actual *WORDS* being spoken, thanks to the subtitles.
When I played this when younger, even at mature age, I had always interpreted it as static / random chatter / screaming & shouting, *but NEVER that there were actual WORDS being spoken...*
*NOW I know...* Thanks to the subtitles... :P
Thanks, Blizz, finally after all this time... Better late than never, I guess... !! :P
