Unfortunately, this channel has been demonetized by YouTube for the third time and therefore the Game Movie Vault has been closed. It was fun for over 10 years but I can no longer afford to spend the time to make these videos without being reimbursed by YouTube. I have started a second channel that focuses on Diablo 4 and I am thinking of starting another separate Game Lore channel very soon.

The fact that Jack Ritschel(RIP) could sound so different as Duke, Zeratul, DuGalle, and the Overmind is testament to him, but mannnn the writing and sound design.

Man, the music from the old blizzard games was just unmatched brilliance, diablo (tristram theme especially) the modernish western style of the terrans, the otherwordly themes of the zerg etc...
Blizzard used to really care about creating brilliance and used to be one of the real gems of the gaming world. -sigh- how times have changed.

Blizzard lived long enough to go from the hero to becoming the villain.

While all those old companies like westwood etc... died heroes.

I love that everyone has extremely reasonable motives throughout the entire story. Yeah, it’s all goofy science fantasy, but if the characters are legible it doesn’t matter what the setting is. In particular, Aldaris and his character arc are extremely underrated, and I didn’t fully appreciate it until going back through the whole story again.

3:44:51 For 2 decades, I never knew there was a hidden level, and it shows where Duran went, the Hybrid shenanigans, and why Zeratul is doing what he's doing, tying it with SC2. Here I thought the Hybrid concept only came from SC2 and Narud being what he is in Heart of the Swarm was woah. It was actually here, in SC1, hidden.

Kerrigan letting Zeratul just walk away after killing his matriarch is just such a stone cold evil move... man. I'd pay good money to erase SC2's plot from my head. And it's so sad, too. I looked forward to the game SO MUCH when it was first announced about... 16 years ago. Jesus. I loved SC1 so much, I remember being so pumped... what a gigantic letdown. Just the way Zeratul says "you will REGRET this decision, Kerrigan" at 3:44:42 with SO MUCH HATRED behind his voice only to turn into such a loser... god damn it

Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together! This is exactly what I was looking for; I’m about to play through SC2 for the first time and I wanted a refresher before I dive in, and all the other “movie” versions of remastered are just the briefings and CG cutscenes. This is perfect!

Idk if people notice this but I've always loved that after zeratul kills zasz everything for everyone devolves into chaos, no one knows what to do, kerrigan is chasing her own tail, and then BOOM, the overmind wakes up and not only is fine but now has all the information and a fully formed planned on how to win .

3:48:50 the voice acting in this game is unmatched. Heres one example that is easily missed. Duran hyperventilates for a slight second delivering his line bc he is so enthralled in his position of power and purpose. Minute details like this, which are plentiful throught the game, truly set this games actors out from many other forms of entertainment. This games story telling and acting is truly a blessing for us to behold.
