These are great little takes for a beginner like me, easy to follow and just enough info. I know I could get creative with this beef chow mein, but I like using vegetables you'd typically use because it pushes my horizons out and I get to work with new things and sample new flavors

This recipe is AMAZING! I couldn’t afford beef tenderloin for this recipe so I got regular shaved steak and it was wonderful. My husband loves it!!

I made this dish this evening and I quite liked it. I used chicken sliced thin and therefore opted to use chicken stock in the sauce. I didn't use bean sprouts but used some sliced mushrooms and green pepper instead. I would do it again but might use red pepper instead of green. I intend to use beef next time. In that case I will use beef stock in the sauce and may use oyster sauce instead of Hoisin sauce.

Great dish. No fail if you follow the instructions. (Remember it’s baking SODA, not baking powder. Corrected in written recipe.) Also I use a bit of sesame oil and add a handful of peanuts or cashews. Love the extra crunch.

Coming from a guy who love making chow mein. You can take the vegetable out first when it's cooked and stir-fry the noodle on its own to add a smoky flavor to the noodles. Toss it around real quick on high heat for around 2 min and then add a few drops of soy sauce. Then put the vegetable and sauce back on with the beef. You can taste the different.
