Creating Amazing MDF Multilayer Speakers - $ 3 Speaker Mods

Finally a solution to my problem. I've got a couple 6x9 and 4in speakers from an old car that I've been wanting to use out in my shop. Scaling up for the 4in aughta be easy enough. Modifying for the 6x9s may be a bit of a trick, but hey....that's half the fun. Thanks for the inspiration on this one!!! (and all the other projects too👍)

I like your laminating techniques, I think at 4:28 you're looking for "Flush trim bit"... Reading other commenters saying how silly it is to make a nice case for cheap speakers probably have higher expectations... but I think the points you're making that wasn't stated: #1 you can make cheap speakers sound better, #2 How to make nice speaker cases, and #3 The techniques shown are universally useful for other projects.

Looks like a Pico Lino to me. Open baffle. Made pico linos in bulk for myself and friends as bookshelf speakers back in the days.

The principle behind that design is called "a Transmission Line Speaker Enclosure"... In this case you made a beautifully solid "Mini Transmission Line speaker" well matched to the small and inexpensive speaker! Sincere congratulations for your very precise and exact work, you make us jealous seeing your dexterity! This same kind of design (laminated enclosure) can be made larger for higher quality speakers. laminating thick pieces of MDF results in a very solid Non-resonant enclosure, great for good audio! I would only suggest to use some silicone adhesive in addition to screws to better seal the speaker basket to the enclosure and also help prevent any resonance between the thin sheetmetal speaker basket and the enclosure, and also to seal the holes for the speaker wires. Ich schaue mir mit Vorliebe ihren Kanal an. Sie stellen Objekte her, die mich immer wieder in ein Erstaunen versetzen. So auch dieses mal. Die Lautsprecher klingen durch das ausgeklügelte System des "Schallweges" um vieles besser. Nicht vorzustellen, wie wirklich hochwertige Lautsprecher mit den entsprechenden Spulen klingen würden. Vielen vielen Dank für das sehr inspirierende Video!

I have exactly those speakers, and I have to say that even straight out of the box, they sound much better than they have any right to being priced at 300 yen.
