Legend, there is one thing with racing mechanic that is worth to note: If one of factions get the milestone buff, the other cannot receive it. So technically harming your opponent does "nothing" it is there to assure that player is able to get the highest tier, and is not locked out of its benefits.

This felt like an old style survival campaign thoroughly enjoyed it.

You should cover Alberic de Bordeleaux, his new start position makes his campaign so much more interesting than in 2, and he also received a buff to his faction effects, so it actually feels like it does something now. Honestly when I finally tried him in IE, I was surprised by how much fun I had.

A racing mechanic should've been given to the Empire or Cathay. There's elector counts rivaling each other or dragon twins doing the same thing.
While for Kislev this entire "civil war" idea sounds completely nonsensical giving the lore and circumstances. Like, Boris founded the Orthodoxy and suddenly, after his death, it doesn't recognize his own daughter as a rightful ruler, despite frost mages proving to be country's founders and savours for many centuries? Sure, why not fight each other when Chaos is already at your doorstep?

It's like they didn't know where to put Hector & Paris mechanic from Troy and ended up deciding on Kislev by rock, paper, scissors or something.

I once played Kostaltyn. I secured Erengrad and Azazel's tower and the land between, then sailed Kostaltyn off to bring the holy word of Ursun to the world. Colonizing and crusading in random places. It was the funniest campaign I've done.

I converted the heathens of Albion and the Dark Elf menace. They trembled at the sight of Ursun's prophet.

I wonder if it would make sense, if the opponent (no matter who you play as) finishes the race first, you would get an event in which you can pick:
1) Become their Military Ally and gain some considerable debuffs (showing that you're their bitch now, since they won)
2) or declaring war on the other faction
in both cases you would loose previous bonuses from the race mechanic and gain them back at max. only if other faction is wiped off the map. Confederation would be impossible and if you picked path 1) and at some point decide "that's enough", you would keep the debuff until you defeat other faction.

I fucking tortured myself learning how to play this campaign. Im new to this game, and out of the few armies Ive played I would DEFINETELY say this one was the hardest. I restarted after turn 5 like 5 times before figuring out that EVERYONE AROUND YOU HATES YOU. Not to mention his early game units are garbage. I basically did what this guy said to do, except I chose to target the skaven first over dealing with Azazel. If you go for Azazel first, you'll immediately be at war with 2 factions (Azazel's ally has settlements to your immediate west). Capturing the 2 ruins next to Zoisheck (or w/e the fuck its called) gives u a buffer zone against the other hostile factions to the north.

I would also mention to recruit the ice court mages asap, the spells really help in the tough battles you'll have to fight (esp vs Azazel, his army is full of melee and people who charge, have fun trying to kite him without ice spells). Diplomacy is a MUST imo. I found it worth to establish diplomatic relations with all the empire factions for trade, as your early game economy is downright depressing (takes several settlements/provinces to establish an actual income).

Save your devotion to decrease the Ice Court's supporters as much as possible (Ice Court has a SHITLOAD of buffs that makes her outpace how fast you can farm support).

Remember, for the early game you aren't really trying to expand as you are trying to SURVIVE. You have multiple hostile factions the north, west and skaven to your east. Your 2 starting settlements can be easily flanked and raided due to it being on water (ASK ME HOW I KNOW :D).

Hope my ted talk helps somebody, because playing through it as a newbie was like rubbing my balls with a cheese grater.

Love that you mentioned the patriarch doomstack in this one. I think if you mentioned more on possible doomstacks or army makeups in early game mid game late game would be very beneficial to new players and veterans alike

I really liked Kostaltyn's campaign in ROC. It was my first time playing Kislev and it was hard. Now i'm in my second Kislev campaign with Katarin and i also unlocked her father by doing the quest mission. It is so much easy with her starting location and army buffs to Ice Guard. Orthodoxy FTW :)

I really love this series. It gives me the chance to look at some legendary lords and their mechanics, that I just never had the motivation to play.
I was wondering how Gor-Rok is doing now, could you review him next, or maybe soon?
Keep it up :)

I really like Kislev campaigns. I don't think their economy is bad. You can make a lot of cash with the right tech, trade partners, and buildings. I also like how all of their units are pretty strong even on legendary (well maybe except for the horse cavalry)

I'm pretty sure that using Supporter Actions to lower the rival's support lets you gain the benefit of the missed milestone, but I don't know if the milestones stack or just give you the bonus of that level. So if you miss the first milestone, it may not matter because you'll get the max rank benefit regardless.
