When a separate Andhra state out of Madras state was under consideration of Government of India, Wadhwa Committee was asked in 1949 to study the Telugu people's opinion. While Coastal districts demanded for separation, Rayalaseema wanted to continue in Madras state. If only Coastal districts came out of Madras as a separate state, it would have lived peacefully since 1953. Leaders of Rayalaseema keep on talking of either Rayalaseema rights, even though AP has been under their leadership for most of the terms since 1953 or some other group demands for separate Rayalaseema or another group talks of Greater Rayalaseema which originally included Nalgonda, Mahaboobnagar, Nellore and Prakasam, apart from four districts of Rayalaseema, ( surprisingly that excludes Bellary) because both Srisailm and Nagarjuna Sagar are in this belt. It looks these leaders take the map of the state and round off the borders of these districts and say 'oh' this is going to be our future Greater Rayalaseema. But Rayalatelangana was also attempted, the leaders of Telangana blocked there. So the demand came back for Greater Rayalaseema. Nellore and Prakasam which are part of coastal region, since when they desired to be part of Rayalaseema, not known, the reason could be, Rayalaseema would be otherwise landlocked like Telangana.
Almost for the last 100 years Andhras got associated with separation demands, first to come out of Madras state, after joining with Telangana, separate Telangana agitation in 1969, then Jai Andhra agitation in1972, since 2001 separate Telangana agitation for about 15 years, in between Rayalaseema demands and finally Bifurcation in 2014. When new state of Andhra started learning to stand on it's own legs, again demand for Rayalaseema or Greater Rayalaseema or whatever. People, in general have already taken such demands as normal happenings, since they got used to separations, new Capitals etc. as this has become a part since generations. If separation should happen, sooner the better so that both the regions could be on their own. Also it would prove that Andhras don't deserve a Potti Sriramulu. As for allocation of river waters, Tribunals will take care of it and finally the MONKEY will be off the back of both the regions.
